"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20
You are unique...one-of-a-kind. Seventy billion human beings have walked the earth before you , but not one of them has been exactly like you. You are a priceless treasure, so you must not value yourself in pennies when you are worth a king's ransom.
Consider for a moment a painting by Picasso or a statue by Michelangelo, a song by John Lennon, or a wedding dress by Vera Wang. Each of these are considered valuable for two reasons: the genius of their creators and the fact that what they produced was very small in number.
Likewise, your Creator has made only one of you. This makes you a Masterpiece! Think about it...a Masterpiece. Close your eyes for a moment and feel the sensation of your heart beating in your chest. Put your hand over your heart, feel the rhythm.
It pulsates minute by minute, hour after hour, day and night, awake or asleep, pumping your blood through more than sixty thousand miles of veins and arteries at a rate of more than 600,000 gallons each and every year. You are an incredible Masterpiece. As hard as scientists may try, they cannot duplicate you.
Now let your mind travel up your body to your nerve center to the most complex structure in the universe...your brain. It is the size of a grapefruit that uses 20% of your body's energy while accounting for only 2% of your body's weight...three pounds. Messages travel through thirteen billion nerve cells and one thousand billion billion protein molecules at a rate of 250 MPH...faster than you can drive a car, zip your pants or recall your own phone number. Every incident in your life is just sitting there waiting to be remembered: Your first day of school, the taste of your favorite dessert, the smell of your jr. high locker room, and the name of your best friend in the fourth grade.
You have been created with the same potential as everybody else. After Einstein died, they took out his brain to study it to see if it was any more special than your brain. Guess what they found? It wasn't. So it wasn't the equipment that made him special. It was what he chose to do with it that made the difference in his life....to live his Life List.
You have been given the same power to decide if you will achieve the items on your life list. You have been given the greatest power of all, your power to choose.
There are no extra-ordinary people, just extraordinary commitments.
You clearly have two choices in life: To take risks and get what you truly want in life or to play it safe and settle for less. We all live in an area called our comfort zone. Successful people who achieve their Life Lists aren't afraid to step outside of the zone. The time for greatness is now...just do it!
Is there something on your Life List that requires you to learn something new? Perhaps you are a little apprehensive because you didn't do well in school and you're afraid to pursue it. Don't be afraid.
Remember, you are one-of-a-kind, so you need to avoid the one-size-fits-all approach to learning that you see in schools. Just because we learn differently doesn't mean that one way of learning is any better than the next. What's important is that you find out what kind of learner your are so you can be successful in conquering your Life List. Click below to see what kind of learner you are.
